There are two possible scenarios:
-
Cancer of the same organ
If the subsequent diagnosis is of the same cancer type or same organ as with the earlier claim(s), there would be an acceleration of the benefits from earlier stages.
For example, if you are diagnosed with a carcinoma in situ of left breast, which is a Very Early Stage cancer, this plan will provide a lump sum cash of 50% of the Basic Sum Assured (BSA). During the treatment process, if you are diagnosed with Early Stage right breast cancer, another 100% of the BSA will be payable to you. The remaining balance of 150% of BSA will be payable if you are diagnosed with Advanced Stage cancer.

(Note: “Same organ” shall refer to the same part of the body which serves the same function, inclusive of body parts that occur in pairs.)
However, if the subsequent diagnosis is for the same cancer type or same organ at same cancer stage, no benefit will be payable.
For example, if you are diagnosed with carcinoma in situ of left breast which is a Very Early Stage cancer, this plan will provide a lump sum cash of 50% of the BSA. During the treatment process, if you are diagnosed with carcinoma in situ of right breast, no benefit will be payable. The remaining balance of 250% of BSA will be payable should you be diagnosed with Advanced Stage cancer.

-
Cancer of different organs
If the subsequent diagnosis is for different cancer types or different organs, you are allowed to make multiple claims for the same stage of cancer subject to the maximum cap.
For example, if you are diagnosed with carcinoma in situ of breast which is a Very Early Stage cancer, this plan will provide lump sum cash of 50% of the BSA. During the treatment process, if you are diagnosed with “carcinoma in situ of colon”, another 50% of the BSA will be payable to you. After a few months, if you are diagnosed with the Early Stage of breast cancer, another 100% of the BSA will be payable. The remaining balance of 100% of BSA will be payable if you are diagnosed with Advanced Stage cancer.
